Coffee with Julia

What is your role at Fullarton Park Dental?

I am the Practice Manager at Fullarton Park Dental. I took over the role from Marg when she retired. I have managed a number of private dental practices in Adelaide and the Hills.

How long have you been a member of the team?

I have been here since early 2017. I came on board just after the renovations were finished.

What do you most enjoy about your job?

I love all aspects of my job and the challenges and rewards that each day brings. I’m very lucky that I work with a great team in a great practice with great patients. What more can you ask for?

What does an ideal Sunday look like for you?

Sleep in, relaxing with the family, getting the ponies out for a ride. Having some friends over for a BBQ with lots of good food and good wine.

Favourite holiday destination?

Definitely a beach somewhere!

My husband Ben and I spent 9 months travelling the East coast of Australia several years ago and we have so many beautiful places on the list we would like to return to.

One of the stand outs was the Sapphire coast as we seriously considered staying and living there.

What’s a special skill or hidden talent you have that not many people know about?

I can fly a plane. Well, I used to be able to fly a plane!

I started training as a pilot when I was 16 years old and although it has been a long time I could actually fly before I could drive a car.

It is on my bucket list to complete my pilot’s licence so I can fly again but I think I will need a bucket load of cash to complete it too!

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

I really have to think about this one! Choosing one thing is really hard as there is so much I would like to be an expert at.

Actually I’d have to say swimming would rate highly. I’m a terrible swimmer, but I think it’s a really important skill to have.

If I was an expert I would be able to teach my children too.

What’s one thing you’re excited about that is coming up in 2019?

We are very much looking forward to welcoming another little girl into our family in March.

She will be a little sister for Macey who is three and a half years old. Macey is finally warming up to the idea of having a little sister and we all can’t wait to meet her!

I will be taking a bit of time away from the practice to look after the new baby but look forward to returning towards the end of the year.
