General Dental Scheme (GDS)
Fullarton Park Dental is proud to accept the General Dental Scheme (GDS), a government funded scheme enabling routine dental care for eligible patients.
If you have received approval from the South Australian Dental Service (SADS), please speak to our Reception staff when you book an appointment to advise that treatment is being sought under the GDS.
GDS treatment is designed to treat key oral health issues in adults with natural teeth. Services may include a check-up and clean, preventative treatment, fillings, and tooth extractions.
General Dental Scheme FAQs
Please check to see if you’re eligible for the GDS with the SA Dental Service (SADS). Adults (18 years or older) who live in South Australia and hold a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card that have reached the top of their local SA Dental clinic waiting list may be eligible.
In this case it’s likely we will modify your treatment plan to address priority treatment. A patient may make a request to SADS to have further treatment under the General Dental Scheme in order to achieve a basic level of oral health.
No, Fullarton Park Dental is a private dental provider. Private dentists play an important role in delivering some public dental services to eligible clients via government based dental schemes such as the GDS, Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), and Emergency Dental Scheme (EDS). SADS patients may be offered the opportunity to receive care from a private dentist.
