Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
Fullarton Park Dental offers bulk billed dental care for eligible kids as part of the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
What is CDBS?
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a benefits program for basic dental services that entitles eligible children between 2-17 years of age up to $1,000 of total dental services costs over the period of two calendar years.
How do I know if my children are eligible?
Your child is eligible for the program if the child or your family are in Tax Bracket A, or receive one of the following Government initiatives:

ABSTUDY

Carer Payment
-
Disability Support Pension
-
Double Orphan Pension
-
Help under the Veterans' Children Education Scheme (VCES) if the child is 16 years or older

Parenting Payment
-
Special Benefit

Youth Allowance
If your child is eligible, you may have received a letter from Medicare entitling their eligibility to the program. If you’re uncertain about their eligibility, get in touch with us at (08) 8272 5271 and quote your Medicare number, and we’ll be happy to assist you in checking your eligibility.
My child is eligible. What do I do now?
Please give Reception a call at (08) 8272 5271 to set an appointment with our dental team. When you arrive, present your Medicare letter entitling your child’s eligibility to the CDBS and provide us with your Medicare card number with their name.
What services are available through the Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
The CDBS covers individual dental coverage for a range of basic services including dental check-ups, x-rays, dental implants, fissure sealing, cleaning, fillings, root canals and extractions. However, the same benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work and cannot be paid for any services provided in a hospital.
How much should I expect to pay upfront for the dental services provided through the CDBS?
Our HICAPS terminal allows us to process every eligible claim on-site, so you won’t have to pay any out of pocket expenses or fill in any additional paperwork through Medicare.
